Sleep--Sahara

What is sleep? I mean the good kind of question of sleep not the ‘I stay up until 5am,
team no sleep, what is sleep” type of question. Sleep to me is the best thing in the world even though I don't get enough of it. I tend to procrastinate on sleep. It's a love hate relationship. Sleep can be many definitions both good and bad. The actual definition of sleep is a condition of body and mind such as that which typically recurs for several hours every night, in which the nervous system is relatively inactive, the eyes closed, the postural muscles relaxed, and consciousness practically suspended. What it means to me is that you can come home after a long day and sleep without worrying about your problems, not feel any pain both physically and emotionally, relax, and finally be at peace. Especially when you sleep in a cold room. It is the best feeling ever. I love sleeping.
Sleep is something every human strives to get on a day to day basis. It has the power to uplift spirits. Personally sleep is my right hand if I don't get enough of it, my entire day will be inflicted. We need to get sleep not only because it's amazing but because we need to take care of our bodies especially since we're younger. We are always staying up and it causes us not want to wake up for school early in the morning. Teenagers nowadays just don't get enough sleep. There would be times where my sleeping schedule would be terrible because I would stay up doing homework or be on social media. I'm still in this habit. Back when I was little I hated taking naps
but now that I'm older after a long day of school I come home and sleep. It makes me feel rejuvenated and not so lazy to do my homework. Sleep gives me a sense of security and comfort. It's the only way to escape from the harsh reality in this world and my everyday problems. I don't have to worry about anything and I wake up with less stress than what I had before. It's like if you're dead but dead without responsibilities and the thinking. We are constantly dreaming. We have scary dreams and amazing dreams. They always leave me hidden messages and they take me to a different world. When you are sleeping your spirit leaves your body and it's like if it's in its own little place, a place at peace in its own little magical world.
In conclusion, sleep is a very important thing. It's good for your health and also an escape from reality. We need to get our 8 hours of sleep or get enough sleep because then when we are older we are gonna look old and out of shape. Sleep is my best friend even though I don't like it sometimes. “I'm so good at sleeping I can do it with my eyes closed.”

This writing really encompasses the fact that sleep really serves as a type of temporary cessation from the real world and all the headaches and bruises it can cause. 15. Everything you wrote about sleep was so relatable. The part of your story that resounded with me most was when you were talking about how as children, we didn't like sleep. It's really ironic. As children, we didn't appreciate nap time. Hearing our parents say, "Bed time!" was the worst. Now, I would gladly go to bed at 8pm and call it a day. The irony is so real it's almost funny to me.

  16. I agree sleep is very amazing, but I always found it a mystery as to why we dream while we sleep. I know we as humans need sleep to rest our bodies, but why do we dream? Our brain keeps busy while we dream of stories and thoughts but is it really a necessity?
