Untitled--Lexy

April 21st, 2017 was a day that I remember so vividly. It started off as a normal Friday, going to school, hanging out with a few friends and going to eat, which we did quite often. Everything was going normally sharing laughs and making memories with one another. A few hours had passed and it was now 10:30 and we all had a curfew of 11:00 so we started to head home and say bye to our other friends who weren't riding with us. As we were heading home everything was normal as usual, listening to music and just enjoying time with one another but as we were proceeding through a green light at an intersection the unthinkable happened. As we were driving through the intersection like anyone would at a green light another car came speeding out of nowhere running a red light crashing into us. At this very moment that felt like forever everything was a blur all I heard were frightening screams, the noise of the screeching tires, the smell of smoke inside the car and the feeling of the spinning car. While this was occurring, my life was flashing before my eyes, I thought this was it I’m not going to make it to my senior year. I started thinking of all the things I’ve done and wish to do if only we would stop spinning and come to a stop. Than after the feeling of what felt like forever the car stopped and so did the sound off the tires. I suddenly blinked and realized I was still alive and so were my friends and none of us were injured, despite a few scratches and bruises. We all got out of the car frightened and in tears hugging one another waiting for our parents to come which also felt like forever. But they arrived shortly. And after a hour or two we all proceed to head home after a long traumatizing night. Although, this day will always be with me it taught me that life is short and we aren’t guaranteed another day so we should appreciate the life we do have and live it to the fullest, appreciate one another and be thankful we are given another day.

  9. It's crazy how often we take life for granted. We ought to appreciate the time we have because it's not guaranteed, and your testimony does a great job of giving insight on that.
