Eating, baking, and cooking is one of my familys favorite things to do, especially my mom and I. We love to look up interesting recipes on pintrest to recreate and to make. Our favorite type of food to eat and make are dessert foods. We both have a sweet tooth and love to eat sweets. The recipe I chose to share is how to make chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream sandwhiches. My mom and I were looking for some sweet treats one day to make when we stumbled across this entincing recipe. My mom and I both enjoy eating raw chocolate chip cookie dough and eating cookie dough ice cream as well so, we thought that this was the perfect recipe to make. The chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream sandwhices are a play on the traditional ice cream sandwhich. These ice cream sandwhices use chocolate chip cookie dough instead of baked cookies. This recipe takes about a total of 3 hours and a half to complete start to finish this time includes the freezing time and the prep time for the recipe is about 20 minutes. This recipe makes a total of 9 sandwhiches. I hope you all enjoy!
Ingredients:
-
● 1 1⁄4 cup of All-purpose flour
-
● 1⁄3 cup of Brown Sugar
-
● 1 cup of Mini Chocolate Chips (milk, dark or white)
-
● 1⁄4 cup of Grandualted Sugar
-
● 1⁄4 teaspoon of Salt
-
● 1⁄2 teaspoon of Pure Vanilla Extract
-
● 1⁄2 cup of Butter
-
● 2 tablespoons of Milk
-
● 1 quart of Cookie Dough Ice Cream
-
● Nonstick Cooking Spray
Directions:
-
Get a large, microwave safe bowl and melt the butter and brown sugar down together.
Stir in the milk, vanilla, and salt. Stir flour into mixture until smooth. Allow to cool. Stir in
chocolate chips after mixture is cool.
-
Get a 8x8 sized pan and line with parchment paper (make sure parchement paper hangs
over the edge of the pan) so dough does not stick to pan.
-
Seperate dough half and half. Pat one half of dough into pan with hand until you have an
even surface.
-
Add another layer of parchment paper (make sure parchement paper hangs over the
edge of the pan) to the pan on top of the first layer of cookie dough, spray the parchment
paper with Nonstick Cooking spray. Lay other half of cookie dough onto the parchment
paper and pat dough with hands until the surface is smooth.
-
Fold the excess parchment paper over the dough and freeze the dough for at least an
hour or more.
-
Use parchment paper flaps hanging over the sides of the pan to lift out the first layer of
the cookie dough sheet and repeat to the second layer of cookie dough.
-
Peel parchment paper of cookie dough sheets and relayer the parchment paper 9make
sure parchement paper edges hang over the edge of the pan) on the bottom of the 8x8
pan.
-
Place the first layer of cookie dough in the bottom of the pan. Spread the desired amount
of ice cream on the top of the first cookie dough layer. After ice cream is spread out
evenly, place second layer of cookie dough on top of the ice cream layer. Make sure to
gently press cookie dough layer into the ice cream layer.
-
Cover the pan with parchment paper and freeze for at least 2 to 3 hours but if possible
freeze for about 6 to 8 hours.
-
To cut the cookie dough ice cream sandwhices get a long, sharp knife and run it under
hot water, make sure knife is dry. Slice cookie dough ice cream sandwhiches into
squares or desired shape and size. Make sure to run the knife under hot water after
every each cut slice.
-
Eat quickly so ice cream does not melt.

The last time I made sweets, it was some good ole' brownies...that were very sweet with chunks of chocolate chips with a very soggy center. It was a successful failure. Now its time to move on to cookie dough and icecream since I clearly mastered very chewy brownies. ^^
