Hope--Maryjane

 

The word hope means “the feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to
happen”. Hope is a thing that everyone has, that keeps people going when they are in solitude
and that brings light to the darkness. Everyone has hope, whether it's for something small or
big. Hope can also be something negative and can be something many people a
disappointment when in a certain situation. As people go through life they come into hardships
that bring them down. I think it is important that they have hope as it gives them something to
hold onto when they don’t have anything else. Also everyone always has hope whether it's in
plans, a person, or the future, whether they admit it or not.

When you watch movies read books, it can be predictable as the usual set up of it is the
intro, the twist, and the happy ever after, but between the twist and the happy ever after is a part
where there is hope for the ending, the “build up” as it fills the audience with hope for the ending
that their will be the happy ever after. Of course there isn’t always an ending, there's sometimes
a cut off or a just an ending that isn’t so happy but one thing is that after the twist there will
always be a part where the audience hopes for the outcome they want to come. This is shown
in many of the best cinematic movies and literature best sellers. Such as Spiderman and the
multiverse as in the movie there is spiderman and Guenn who plays spider girl they are love
interest and in the last movie they end up having a disconnect where they lose their way from
each other, although many predict that they will end up being with each other based on the flow
of the movie so far, it is not yet confirmed as the movie ends with a cut off. A literature piece that
was so good that they made into a movie was the novel Five Feet Apart the novel, although in
my opinion better than the movie as it flips back and forth with the perspective, is about to ill
people who have to keep their distance for the sake of life but in the novel the character Stella
and Will fall in love and have hope that one day their illness will be cured and they can be with
each other. As a reader I felt hope for then during the twist in the novel as one’s life was on the
line and the aspect of hope was portrayed throughout the novel, it made me hope they were
capable of loving each other and overcome their obstacles, the ending is probably seeable as
they aren’t able to be this each other but even after it still leaves the audience with hope that
maybe.

Although hope is portrayed in many ways through movies and novels it can also be
portrayed in a person’s life. I remember a day that I had to move and pets weren't allowed at the
new place, but my mom said she’d talk to the landlords to see if there was anything they could
do even if it was a payment, as she knew how much I loved that dog. I had so much hope the
closer and closer the day came as I didn’t want her to go. My mom came to me and broke the
news, she wasn’t allowed in the house and we would have to give her away. I felt betrayed and
like my hope was for nothing. I had hoped for so long, it was defeated and I didn’t see the good
in hoping anymore. But it didn’t last long as everything in life needed hope, to prevail, to grow, to
live, and prosper. I may have lost something dear to me even if I hoped my heart away but it
didn’t make me give up as I hoped that in the future I would come across her again later in life.
The idea of hope is expressed in a variety of ways and in numerous situations as the
presence of hope is a universal theme. The idea of hope keeps dreams happy, it keeps the
future alive, and it keeps the fire inside of us burning. Hope is what many use to create new
inventions, write best seller novels, make new movies, and help improve the world. Obstacles
and hardship kick people to their lowest and even take them to the darkest places they’ve ever
been to but, with a little hope being the light in the dark they need, they can exceed all of the
troubles they felt, taking them somewhere better so they can create a new goal they can have
hope for achieving. Hope to me means life, as without it there would be nothing to life.
