Joy
What is joy? Is it something you feel, you can create, or you can see? Joy is many things it is everywhere an influences things all the time, it is something you can create, give, feel, and see which makes it so great. This emotion is something people love to have and share with others. It is what you feel when you have journeyed long and hard and have completed your journey, it is what you feel and see when you ask someone to Homecoming and you see their eyes light up bright. Joy is a very amazing emotion to receive it something great must happen, something that triggers your brain and stimulates it, this emotion courses through your body making other emotions come out like happiness and a fulfilled feeling. Emotions of all kinds are extremely interesting what makes them work what they do and how they do it. Emotions start with your senses, something happens you see it you do it you smell it you taste it, this then flows up to your brain registering as something you want and shoots it all over you may be giving you a tingling feeling or just a brightness. These different senses can even work together especially with foods you smell the strawberry  you can see and feel it, and finally you eat it which triggers your brain to give you joy. To achieve joy that means someone is going in the right direction doing as they should and being successful, and having fun along the way. When it comes down to it this emotion is not very complex, when you enjoy something and have fun you experience joy a form of fun. Any time some one's eyes light up or they have a sense of energy about them they are experiencing joy, and the great thing about it is it can motivate you to do great things, it becomes contiguous spreading to the people around you and continuing along the atmosphere. It is something in which never disappears and is always at the end of a dark tunnel, it is something you look forward to and always want to have and share. Think about joy memories of happiness will shoot through you maybe even compelling enough for you to do something great and to feel this natural high once again, because once you have felt it you will be addicted and never want to give it up because it is so good for you it has no side effects and it even makes the people around you better. I world without joy would be a world without happiness a place where there is no laughter and play, that is a place that none of us want to be so stay joy full always being happy always spreading the joy. Because joy will come back to you when you need it the most it will lift you up and allow you to be great and do something you thought you would never do, this is why joy is so important, because without it what would be have?

  5. It's difficult to define an abstract idea, but I felt like this was done rather nicely. Especially because most people don't quite understand the importance of joy itself and the great effect it has on our personal lives on a daily basis. The reference to food is a reminder that even the simplest things in life can bring anyone the greatest amount of pleasure, or in this case, joy. Great job.

  6. I loved how for a little bit there you made such a simple emotion into something almost scientific and complex. It puts a little bit more meaning behind simple joyful things in life.

  9. You did a great job in describing how you view joy and you really appealed to the senses and got me thinking what does my joy smell, sound, taste, feel, and look like. :)

  10. Speaking of joy, part of my first name is "joy" which is why my parent's named me Angela Joy, they named me something that makes me special and to them i bring them happiness and pleasure. I really like how you interpreted "joy" in your numerous of ideas, this shows that something simple could be expressed in a complex manner. i like it. :]

  15. Okay, dang. Rhetorical questions are my sddiction when it comes to writing and a passage pertaining to emotions are an ideal place to implement them for emotions are universal, yet unique to each individual. Do you know what I mean? That kind of sounds like an oxymoron but I hope you catch my drift. feelings are not simple. I mean when one is asked how they're feeling they aren't like "oh why I'm filled with joy" the atypical response is "i can't even put it into words" but I feel you did a great job in capturing such a difficult topic. I dig the xoversational tone you had througout and continued provocation but it wasn't too much inquiry that I was uncomfortable for you, yourself, revealed your own opinion or answer to the questions. I'm sorry if this isn't making any sense. Bottom line (I feel like there should be one since I'm rambling): thank you, for sharing your take on joy and thank you for stirring my thoughts on the subject as well.

  30. Joy was a really great topic to pick because everyone's experienced it before. You express yourself very well, and I feel that you would write an awesome SAT essay ....

  33. True and false is what you define. You took a simple idea with a constitution of three letter and gave it life. Your work was a ble to transform a cliché of happiness and make it significant to the point in which through your rethorical strategies, and examples, you where able make it archaic and making it "un cliché" since you transform something abstract into something concrete giving it life and senses...making it human. And through this we are able to interact with joy renderingan experience unlike any other. Well done.

  34. Very deep! It really spoke to me. Your description of joy was very well written and very expressive. Also, I agree that we all need joy in our lives. Good job!

  35. I agree with your very last sentence, "because without it what would be have?", life without any joy is pointless. I thought your work was very well put together and uses many examples that the audience can personally relate to and create that connection to your perspective which makes it that much better.

  36. You take sound and sense to an elevated level. Though joy you've experienced is so wonderful for each sense, especially the food part.

  38. I loved the little experiences and pieces of life that you tied into the feeling of joy. For example, the "asking someone to Homecoming" example is something that we can all relate to and it allows us to understand the feelings and emotions that you were hoping to express through your writing! I applaud you for taking on such a brave topic to write about!

  39. This is a thought that I commonly have myself about happiness, which in a sense is interchangeable with joy, so I was very capable of appreciating this piece. I have a belief that without happiness, there is no point to life. I won't go entirely into detail, but I must point out that I love the very last line, which begs the question: (in reference to joy) "without it what would we have?" ... This article made me feel joy in knowing that I'm not the only one who feels this way, or at least feels a way that is similar.

  40. I felt so happy reading this. You really captured the reader, being me, I guess, by such a difficult question. What IS joy? I dont know, man, but I really enjoyed this.
